Fried Bee Hoon with Stewed Pork Sliced

This was a recipe from a friend last time when we were working together in Singapore (back in 2006). Hubby loves it.

I am not a fan to stewed pork cos to me they are a bit too oily. But I found it quite nice when cooked with bee hoon, not so oily. I like to eat with Maggie chili sauce.

Ingredients:
1/2 pack of bee hoon or rice vermicelli (serve 4 to 5 person, I brought this Jiang Men brand bee hoon from Sarawak. Hard to find it in West Malaysia)
250g Beijing cabbage, finely chopped
1 can stewed pork sliced (I prefer Gulong brand)
1 1/2 tsp light soy sauce (add more if you want it to be more salty)
1 tsp dark soy sauce (just for nicer color. Or do not add if you want white noodles)

Method:
1. Soak the rice vermicelli in hot water for about 3 minutes or until the noodles are soft. Drain and set aside.
2. Open the canned stewed pork, take out the stewed pork pieces, and gently tear the meat into smaller chunks.
3. Heat the wok and pour in the stewed pork gravy.
4. When the gravy comes to boil, add in the noodles. Give it a nice stir until even and add in the cabbage & stewed pork sliced. Stir fry for a while until the cabbage is cooked.
5. Finally, add in the soy sauce and light soy sauce. Stir till the color is even. Remove the wok from heat.
If cannot finish all at one go, I will keep it warm in the rice cooker. Else it will become "sticky" when it is cold due to the fat from the stewed meat slice.

David's birthday 2013

Back dated post

Celebrated David's 38th birthday yesterday. It was a simple birthday celebration. We called Sister Alice and her grandchildren to come over to have a simple birthday dinner with us. Sister Alice is a very generous lady who used to attended the same church with us. We are staying in the same condominium, just that she is in block A and we are in block B. Even though she has moved to other church now, we are still close. We are so blessed to have her as our neighbor, as well as sister in Christ.

I baked a simple chocolate cake for David (Recipe from GoodtoknowRecipes) and as Foo Chaw, it is our tradition to have mee sua on birthday. So I cooked chicken soup and a side dish - Fried kai lan with prawns. Sister Alice brought over her signature - fruit salad, crab with ginger, stewed drum stick and not forgetting a bottle of Merlot...

Happy hubby with his birthday cake. The 8" cake finished by all of us after hubby blew off the candles... hahaha... happy that everyone loves the cake. But it is a bit too sweet. Need to cut the sugar next time :)

Long time no see...

wao... it has been quite a while since I last came up here to update my blog. One freaking year!!! man!!! I really need some discipline... and consistency. A lot of things happen for the past one year... Stopped working after delivery of Samuel, then went back to work again in year 2010. Resigned from that company in 2011 and went back to Kuching. Worked in a bank for one year and now, I am back in Penang again and yup! Not working at this moment... Since I have more free time now, I can spend more time on this long neglected blog. Looked back on my first blog and think of my initial intention of having a blog and now, I can see clearer what I really want to do with my blog. Hope I can maintain the updates and in the future, when I look back on this blog, I will feel proud of myself :)

Shaping-Up

I first started taking Herbalife in May 2010. My starting weight at that time was 57kg. I heard from a lot of friends said that Herbalife is very effective in weight loss and I got myself a Start Now Pack from my friend. She is not a coach and she is just helping her friends to sell the product. So, I did not do any body analysis before I started taking the product and I just follow blindly her instruction on how to consume the product. I was so excited when I lost 4kg after 2 months but ever since after that, my weight never went down anymore. It was just stuck at the same number for 3 months, I got fed up and I gave up Herbalife. Eventually my weight started climbing up as I started eating without control and it went up to 58kg in Jul 2011.
I was so frustrated and when I found that I no longer could fit into clothes with XL size, I began to worry. In July 2011, I decided to give Herbalife another try. This time, I found myself a Herbalife Personal Wellness Coach and believe me, it does make a different.
My coach first helped me to do a body analysis. From the analysis, I got to know better what actually caused my over weight issue and she taught me how to consume the product base on my problems in order to achieve the maximum effect faster! With the coach guiding me, giving my advice and encouragements, I felt more confidence and motivated. I learnt a lot of things too. All the questions I had last time all answered, especially on why losing weight was so fast in the beginning and after a while the weight will not go down anymore?... hahaha... now I know why.... *wink* For the time being, I have lost 4kg!!

I am so glad that David is in this "weight loss" project with me this time and I am so shock to see his seriousness on this. Sometimes I try to "seduce" him to have satay or mee curry for dinner. He will look at me and with his serious tone he will say," No. I will have Herbalife shake." I am so proud of him and he is doing better than me!!
See David's tummy? He used to have BIG tummy and he always complained to me that he felt very bloated. We even brought him for ultra sound scan as we thought there were some sort of tumor growing inside that made the tummy so big... (-__-)"  Thank you to Herbalife, he has now reduced 6kg and we can see that his tummy's size reduced a lot too! Amazing!!
wohoo.... I feel so great and so much better now. More confidence and healthier. We are still working hard on the remaining extra kilos. We believe with Herbalife, we can do it!
So if you are interested to have a better, healthier and younger-looking appearance, please don't hesitate to message me. I can help you.
Will update again soon for our weigh loss progress. Stay tuned!
