Celebrated David's 38th birthday yesterday. It was a simple birthday celebration. We called Sister Alice and her grandchildren to come over to have a simple birthday dinner with us. Sister Alice is a very generous lady who used to attended the same church with us. We are staying in the same condominium, just that she is in block A and we are in block B. Even though she has moved to other church now, we are still close. We are so blessed to have her as our neighbor, as well as sister in Christ.
I baked a simple chocolate cake for David (Recipe from GoodtoknowRecipes) and as Foo Chaw, it is our tradition to have mee sua on birthday. So I cooked chicken soup and a side dish - Fried kai lan with prawns. Sister Alice brought over her signature - fruit salad, crab with ginger, stewed drum stick and not forgetting a bottle of Merlot...
