We went for a 2D1N trip to Cameron Highlands last week. It was quite last minute as Hubby didn't know that last Monday was a holiday (National Day), until his colleague told him. Luckily we manage to book a hotel 2 days before the trip. We searched online for some information about places of interest and "must-eat" food in Cameron before we went. The most important is to get the map downloaded to Hubby's GPS. We left home on Saturday 6:30am in the morning. Samuel was still sleeping when I put him into the car. He woke up around 9am, but he still look sleepy...
The winding road to Cameron really made me sick. I felt like throwing out but there was nothing for me to throw out, as we didn't have breakfast. We reached Brinchang Town around 10am. We went to the hotel first to check in, but we could not check in until 1pm. So we went for breakfast at KFC. haha... cos we thought that was the fastest as we were starving. Samuel was really excited when we put him onto the baby chair at KFC... he was staring out to the window and making all kind of sound.
We stayed in Bala's Holiday Chalet, as it's super peak season, the room rate is RM300 per night. The room was ok, but we had to climb up lots of stair case in order to come to the room, it was really tiring... However we like the environment, quiet and peaceful. When I first went into the room, I found no air-con and the room was quite stuffy at first. We didn't want to open the window as there's no mosquito net. I was scared that bugs would fly into our room at night. But we did open the window and sleep that night, no bug came in and it was super cold!
We went to the local market on the first day. The vegetables, strawberry and flowers were so cheap over there. We just bought some strawberry on the first day (2 big packet for RM10 and get 1 small packet for free). We came back here again the next day to get some vegetables and roses before went home. I bought more than 13 packs of vege (11 types) for RM20 and Hubby bought some roses for me, I didn't count how many of them, but I heard the florist colling our," 100 for RM20".... Hubby said he didn't want to get 100 for me as there was no more place in the car... what a lousy excuse!
We visited the Boh Tea Plantation on the second day. The view was really magnificent. We sat at the tea house, had a cup of tea and an apple pie. Hubby had a cup of Jasmine Boh Tea and I had the Passion Fruit Orange flavoured Boh tea. Looking at the green green scenery, with a cup of warm tea in your hands and feeling the cold breeze at the same time... oooo.... it was so relaxing...
Before we went for dinner, we went to this cafe, Strawberry Moment for some strawberry treat. The cafe was highly recommended by Hubby's colleague. We simply ordered a few to try and there were all very delicious!! The strawberries were really fresh and sweet!
We had steam boat for dinner! RM16 per person, including drinks, quite cheap. It was really cold when we were having our dinner as it was raining. So it was quite comforting having steamboat when the weather is cold... :)
We checked out around 9am the next morning. We went to the market to get some vege, went for breakfast, then we headed back home around 12 noon and reached home around 5:30pm. We had "char kueh teaw" for dinner. We were tired, so did Samuel... but it was sure a great weekend... :)
Nice trip! it sounds so interesting... :)
